Camping!
Aaron and Chloe came down this weekend, and we all went camping at Parker Lake. The Orozco's and Meghan came out too, we rented a little speed boat on Friday and kept it over night. We had such a blast, we are still recovering a bit... I'm relaxing now and I will post some more pictures later. I hope everyone's weekend was awesome.

Almost Home!
I can't believe it, it's almost here. Regan will be heading home soon! He's officially begun to clear and so far is on track to be home on June 6th! That night we will head straight to El Paso from Tucson because my cousin Kaile's high school graduation is the next morning. It will be a long night, of that I'm sure. We wouldn't miss it though. While there we will get to see some cousins, my Grammie, a couple aunts and uncles, and of course Chloe and hopefully Aaron. Aaron is in the field a lot, but just got promoted so I told him to get that weekend off. Like they will care, lol!
It's gonna' be here before we know it.

Wait, potty what? ... Potty trained?
My little man went to daycare in underwear last Tuesday. That was his first time. Which made today his fifth day. Today also happened to be the first day he didn't have an accident at school. He left in blue undies and came home in the same blue undies!!!
I AM SO PROUD! Whenever he does good at daycare, especially with potty training and being nice to friends, I tell him how proud I am and how he makes me so happy. We give a bunch of high-fives and a bunch of hugs... he asks me if I'm "So happy? You so happy mommy?" I tell him that I am SO HAPPY and he just smiles back at me and chuckles.
I love my little guy more and more everyday. It's just amazing to see what they take from you and how they express their love for you right back.

Letters to Juliet
My mom and I had been planning to see it since we first saw the preview for it. I have to admit, it was as good as I thought it was going to be. At the same time though, I was almost hoping it would exceed my expectations... Weird, I know, because I really did like it. One thing that did surprise me is that I didn't think I would cry, and I did. I wasn't weeping or anything, but I did have a somewhat steady flow of tears for a few minutes. If you were thinking of seeing it, I say see it. You will enjoy it!
Pizza Time!
We bought some really cool pizza crusts from Costco yesterday. Skylar had tried a sample and asked for more, so I figured I may as well buy them and we can make a pizza together. We made one for dinner tonight. I knew I had a few things to use for toppings at home, so I just chopped up some sliced pineapple and some of the turkey sausage patties we had in the fridge.
We got everything set up and Skylar was ready to go.

I heard him say "yum" right before we started and when I looked closer I realized he was hungry and liked the crust!

He recognized the sausage and had to try some of that too!

After he was done with a few samples we started to top the pizza...

He stopped while topping the pizza for a couple more samples...

Ready to go into the oven!

This is how it turned out! If you think it looks good believe me when I tell you it tasted amazing!

Little Cowboy
We were at Kohl's yesterday waiting for Meghan's flight to get in. Aaron follows Skylar up to my mom and I. Skylar is wearing a pair of Toy Story boots that light up. He is enamored with these boots, jumping up and down, telling us "there's a snake in my boots!" Of course I ended up buying them.
This is him at lunch. We went to Claim Jumper, needless to say he didn't eat anything.

These are a few pictures from today. We had just got home, he climbed out of the car and helped me check the mail. I love how the bottom of the boot says ANDY!

Of course I had to buy some kind of shirt or something to match the boots. I found this one at Old Navy!

Hurrican Simulator with Uncle Aaron
My brother is in town this weekend, for a couple of reasons. Other than just to visit Meghan gets home from college tomorrow and it's our mom's birthday on Monday. Today we went to the mall, and strolled around before we went to see How to Train Your Dragon. For the record, this was my seventh time seeing it! I saw it once with Regan, once with Aaron and Skylar, and five times with just Skylar. Whew! It's a good thing that I love it! Anyway here's a clip of Aaron and Skylar in the hurrican simulator!
This is just a couple shots of the boys roaming around the mall.

Sorting Clothes
I actually did it. I went through all of Skylar's old clothes. I separated them into five piles: one for Rachel, one for Lyndi, one for Karen, one for me, and one for donation. Yikes! It was hard but super worth it. I was going through them and remembering him in all the little outfits. There were also a bunch of pajamas, onesies, shorts, and overalls that a girl could wear.... Wishful thinking I guess!

Private Practice
Seriously! I hate how much I love this show. The bad thing about it is that I get so attached to the characters.... in all the shows I watch really. Man, what a season finale. Almost as bad as last season. Last season ended with Violet being cut open by a psycho patient of hers. This season, almost 3 deaths. One actually happened.
Anyway, I just had to blog a little bit about it, I was crying like a little girl! :(

CPR/BLS
I completed my Basic Life Saving/CPR Certification yesterday!
I'm so excited! It was strange to think I took an online course, but I feel just as confident as I did when I learned in XRay school. The only thing that's really changed is the respiration to compression ratio. Not too big of a deal, just glad to have it. I'm actually surprised that more health facilities don't require it. It's a pretty good skill to have... For now I'm just praying that the only time, if ever, I have to use it will be at work.

HeAdAcHe!
I have the absolute worst headache I've had in a LONG time. So, right now I'm timing just how quickly rapid release extra strength tylenol to work. Until then, I hope that Skylar keeps up the moderately good behavior he's got going this evening. I just put Toy Story 2 on for him, so I should have at least 30 uninterrupted minutes to relax...

The Back-Up Plan
Skylar and I went to the movies today. I figured if we should get a bite before going to the theater. Ice cream was sounding awesome so DQ seemed like the best choice. Plus, it's on the way to Uptown 3 (I know, ghetto theater) which is where The Back-Up Plan was showing. We had hot dogs and chips, followed by some ice cream, which Skylar made minced meat of. I still haven't figured out how to post videos on here, so the video of him eating ice cream is on facebook.

By the way, I adored the movie. I had read some harsh reviews in People. They had dissed on J Lo's character for climbing into a dumpster while pregnant. Seeing the movie, and having been pregnant before I understand why her character did it. People's problem was how realistic that action was. I think it's fairly accurate, when you're pregnant and you NEED things a certain way to sleep... You WILL make sure things are the way you want. It was funny to think of but I understood her desperation. Although I liked the movie, I almost regret seeing it because now the baby bug is getting worse!!!

Kind of a Big Break
I have a friend/former co-worker who actually moved to Hawaii around this time last year. She emailed me yesterday, kind of out of the blue, and asked if I had found a job yet. She said a CT position opened up at Tripler! It hasn't been posted yet but she told me to email my resume to a contact there that way when it's posted and I apply they can pick me right out of the list of applicants! That all depends if the see my resume and decide I'm qualified. HOORAY!!! I know the contact has received my email, she did respond and said she would be reviewing it and contacting me in the near future. Keep your fingers crossed for me everyone!

A Slight "Bum" in the Road
Just wanted to make a quick post about one of my job applications. I heard back from a facility that had listed a mammography position. Apparently they had looked into it and decided not to fill the position and just closed it. At least I heard back. There are several other applications I put in, so we'll see if I start hearing more. A lot of them had said I may not hear back for 4-6 weeks, so I'm still crossing my fingers.
Also, I'm pretty sure I will be receiving my Hawaii state license any day. I paid for my CPR/BLS certification, it's an online course that's accredited in all 50 states. Is that scary, learning CPR online? I thought it sounded weird, but since I already had a classroom CPR class once I figured this would be okay to sort of re-up. If this were my first I would've definitely felt better about sitting through a class.

Badger Boy

a bigger boy everyday
I was at one of my favorite places today (TARGET) to pick up a few things and I passed the laundry/storage aisle. They have the cutest storage supplies for kids rooms these days. I had been thinking of getting Sky some sort of dresser type apparatus but didn't want some heavy wooden thing with drawers that could cause him damage. Besides, he's two... He doesn't exactly have that kind of demand for the storage of clothes. When I got back to work from my lunch break I kept thinking about the storage bin I had seen earlier. I thought about how Skylar helps me load the washer, sort clothes, and load the dryer. It seemed like a suitable next step for him. He's nearly potty trained (having trouble getting him to go to the toilet before going number 2), he brushes his own teeth, pretty much bathes himself, and darn near dresses himself. I mean, his new favorite saying is "my do it!" So I decided why not get him involved in picking out his own clothes and helping put them away.
So after I picked him up from daycare I told him we were going to get some cool new stuff for his room. He sounded excited and kept asking if we were at the store yet! This is the storage bin:

He helped me pair up socks, and fill the bin with his clothes. Pajamas and slippers- on top, underwear and socks- top drawer, t-shirts- middle drawer, shorts- bottom drawer. Hanging- collared shirts, long sleeve shirts, sweaters, pants.

We also picked up a new rug for his room. I feel like it's all tied together better now.

By the end of our clothes sorting journey he was still helping me but it took almost an hour so his attention was fading a bit. I was surprised that he payed attention for that long seeing as how we weren't engaged in the most exciting activity possible. It may have gone quicker if he didn't stray now and then but overall I was super proud of my "Big Boy!"

"I like it!"
After seeing fruit in the refrigerator Skylar asked me for an apple. I told him: "That's not an apple, it's a plum. You can have on if you want." He shook his head so I reached into the bin, pulled out a plum, peeled the stickers and rinsed it off. He looked at it as if it were from another planet. I assured him it was okay, and to take a bite. He barely pierced the skin and pulled his mouth away. Next, he started to pull some of the skin off as if he were trying to peel it! "It's okay, you just bite it, like this." I took a bite. He looked at me almost disgusted as I chewed the fruit and the section of skin that came with it. "Go ahead." He took his first real bite.
At first it was like he was muscling through it.

He made it through the first little bite, and this time went for a larger one!

After about his third bite that's when he told me: "I like it!" He was walking around the kitchen and dining room like he was exploring more than just a new food...

He ate that plum almost completely to the pit! Occasionally he'd spit out a small piece of the skin, but overall he did great. I'm glad he enjoyed it. We'll see if he asks for another anytime soon!
